SAM FINK has entertained and educated with his
vibrantly illustrated texts from America’s history for more than twenty
years. His first book, a pen and ink version of The Constitution of the United States of America, was published by Random House in 1987. Mr. Fink followed up with The Gettysburg Address and then The Fifty Six Who Signed, in which he drew 56
caricatures of the signers of The Declaration of Independence. His last work, for Scholastic, was The Declaration of Independence: The Words That Made America,
a beautiful and funny presentation of the complete document for readers
of all ages. Before he turned to writing and illustration, Mr. Fink
worked in an advertising firm where he was art director. At age 89, he
is deep at work creating full-color paintings and calligraphy of the Book of Exodus.
